Digital Enhanced Cordless Technology or DECT phones are cordless phones. Cordless telephones operate as wireless handsets that communicate through radio waves. They have a base station connected to a fixed telephone line within a limited range. The base station is located at the subscribers place to be attached to a network much like corded telephones.

Pricier handsets get you to talk for around eight hours after the charge up. When not in use they retain a charge for around 100 hours. These phones come in stylish designs in much variety. Many DECT models of cordless phones can be quite expensive for the sleek designing alone. With cutting edge audio and visual equipment they can be pretty expensive. Advanced features like data-transfer and roaming make few models even more so. DECT 6.0 technology significantly improves call quality and cordless phone range.
