The use of cordless tools has expanded rapidly over the past two decades. Whereas once they were considered an expensive luxury, they are now standard equipment used by both professionals and DIYs. The first cordless tools were drills that were generally quite expensive. But now there's a range of such equipment like saws, sanders, grinders and even lawn mowers that are quite reasonably priced.
The first cordless power tool was unveiled by Black & Decker in 1961. Among the simplest types of cordless tools that do basic jobs are cordless screwdrivers, drills and sanders. Other cordless tools are more versatile and do even multi-purpose tasks. Like hammer drills or nail guns that round out a worker’s versatility. |

Cordless power tool technology includes tools like cordless saws - jigsaws and reciprocal saws. These are any wireless tools that require power to operate, but do not need to be plugged into the wall and run on batteries or have rechargeable built-in batteries. For the handyman there are many different types of cordless tools designed to make many jobs a whole lot easier.
A cordless drill is a type of electric drill which uses rechargeable batteries. For continuous use, a worker will have one or more spare battery packs charging while drilling, so that he can quickly swap them, instead of having to wait an hour or more for recharging, although there are now Rapid Charge Batteries that can charge in 10–15 minutes.
